Motion Works physiotherapists have expertise and experience in the evaluation and treatment of injuries sustained in motor vehicle accidents.
"Active" Treatment Programs
Home visits
Home visits are provided when mobility is restricted to ensure early active exercises and mobility training. This "jump start" to our active on- site rehabilitation promotes early and effective healing of the injured tissues.
Acute injury management:
In the clinic setting, physiotherapists provide education, anti-inflammatory modalities, support for injured tissues and active exercises to maintain strength and mobility. Advice on modifying daily activities to minimize excessive loads through the injured tissues is crucial during this stage as this allows for early, effective healing.
Regaining mobility and strength:
A comprehensive biomechanical assessment of the injuries to joints and soft tissues and functional abilities of the client is performed following the acute stage. Manual joint therapy and progressive active mobility and strengthening exercises, as well as general conditioning exercises are provided in the clinic. Physiotherapists are trained in specialized "un-loading" exercises to promote early active exercises while supporting the injured tissue.
Return to work:
For an effective return to work and full activities of daily life, functional exercises based on work demands analysis are included.
Chronic pain management and episodic problem management.
Injuries sustained in motor vehicle accidents may result in chronic pain syndromes and episodes of soft tissue re-injury or joint dysfunction. Our physiotherapists are trained to provide analysis and treatment to allow you to regain your mobility. Core spinal stabilization exercises are a key part of our active treatment approach.
